Hi there, I'm new to coda and trying to set it up for use in the following configuration: One coda server in our corporate network and a notebook as coda client. Ofcourse I am planning to have coda take care of the synchronisation of files between our corporate network (which is backed up by our sys admins) and my notebook. All sounds sensible so far, I hope. ;-) Both machines run Debian GNU/Linux (Woody) and I installed coda-client on the notebook and coda-server & coda-update (all version 5.3.19-1) on the server. I ran "vice-setup" on the server and it all seems to be ok even though I'm not yet sure what exactly will be in /vice and /vicepa but I'll figure that out some time later. Might be nice to explain that in the howto though. Starting the server seems to work but running "createvol_rep coda:root E0000100 /vicepa" results in the following message: pc6607:~# createvol_rep coda:root E0000100 /vicepa Getting initial version of /vice/vol/BigVolumeList. V_BindToServer: binding to host pc6607 RPC2_NewBinding to server pc6607 failed with RPC2_NOBINDING (F) awk: cannot open /vice/vol/BigVolumeList (No such file or directory) awk: cannot open /vice/vol/BigVolumeList (No such file or directory) V_BindToServer: binding to host pc6607 RPC2_NewBinding to server pc6607 failed with RPC2_NOBINDING (F) Failed to dump the current VRDB into /vice/db/VRList.new pc6607:~# Looks like a problem with resolving the DNS even though "ping pc6607" and "ping pc6607.natlab.research.philips.com" both work and the hostname seems to be set properly. Any suggestions on how to solve this?
